Hoje, depois de descer o Monte Serrat, estávamos andando pelo centro da cidade e vimos um vitral que nos chamou a atenção. Resolvemos conferir de perto, e tratava-se de um vitral do Palácio Saturnino de Brito, que pertence à SABESP e é um pequeno "museu" do saneamento e urbanização da cidade, além de mostrar também um pouco do trabalho atual da SABESP. O palácio é lindo, e a visita é bem interessante. Há dois guias que falam também inglês, espanhol e francês e são super simpáticos. O prédio fica aberto para visitação das 11h até as 17h e contém móveis, projetos, fotos e equipamentos utilizados por Saturnino de Brito e pela companhia de saneamento e distribuição de água. Descobri, por exemplo, que a ponte pênsil foi planejada por Saturnino também, fato que eu desconhecia. Depois da parte histórica, entramos numa sala que mostra o que vem sido feito desde de 2004 pela SABESP, com um dos maiores mapas já impressos cheio de luzes indicativas das realizações na área do saneamento, que são bem impressionantes. Além do serviço muito eficiente realizado, esse é uma outra obra excelente da SABESP.
Recomendo como ponto turístico para quem é de fora ou nativo de Santos, para conhecer um pouco mais da nossa história.
Today, after leaving the Serrat Mountain, we were walking the city center and we saw a stained glass window caught our eye. We decided to check it and it was a window from the "Saturnino de Brito" Palace, which belongs to SABESP (water company of the State of São Paulo) and works as a small "museum" of snaitation and urbanization, besides showing a little of the work the company is currently doing. The palace is beautiful and the visit is very interesting. There are two guides who speak English, Spanish and French and very, very friendly. The building is open to visitation from 11h to 17h and contains furniture, projects, photos and equipment used by Saturnino de Brito and by the company. I´ve found out, for instance, that the Pênsil Bridge was planned by Saturnino de Brito, which I didnt knew. After the historical part, we entered a room that shows what has been done by SABESP since 2004, with one of the largest maps ever printed, filled with lights which indicate what has been done in sanitation in the city, which, are by the way pretty impressive. Besides the very efficient service, this is another excelent work coming from SABESP.
I recommend it as a touristic point to either who's from outside or from the city, to get to know a little more of our history.
