Bom, está certo que o blog é sobre Santos, mas São Vicente é tão pertinho que uma esticada por lá merece ser mencionada aqui também, não é?
Hoje fomos no Parque Ecológico Voturuá, antigo Horto de São Vicente que foi reformado.
Eu havia ouvido que a reforma havia sido para ampliação, e estava esperando que estivesse maior e com mais animais do que antes, mas parece que as reformas foram exigências do IBAMA para acondicionar de forma mais adequada os animais. Então houve mudanças, mas não tinha tantos animais quanto eu esperava. Mas vale a visita!
Vimos algumas aves, um hipopótamo, leões, onça pintada, gambás, lagarto, saguis, macaquinhos, corujas, etc. Foi um passeio muito gostoso, mas deixa um gostinho de quero-mais por ser um zoológico. O parque ainda está com áreas interditadas e partes em reforma, e infelizmente algumas coisas boas foram fechadas, como o museu dos escravos e o delicioso restaurante que existia dentro dele.
Alimentação só na área do pesque e pague e é limitada. A água do laguinho da frente estava bem suja, ficamos com dó das carpas que nadavam por lá. Haviam no entanto muitos cuidadores observando os animais, cuidando da sua adaptação e orientando as pessoas. O chato são as pessoas/crianças que falam gritando e estressam os animais, mas não há o que fazer quanto à falta de noção dos outros.
Mas foi um passeio bem legal e eu recomendo!

Ah, do lado de fora do parque há um estacionamento enorme e a entrada é gratuita! O endereço é Rua Dona Anita Costa, s/nº - Vila Voturuá e funciona das 9h às 17h.

Well, this blog is about Santos, but São Vicente is so close that going there deserves to be mentiones here too, doesnt it?
Today we went to the Voturuá Ecological Park, which was just recently reformed. I'd heard that the reform had been to enlarge the park and so I was hoping it was bigger and with more animals than before, but it seems the reform was demanded by IBAMA (Organ responsible for the protection of animals) to keep the animals in more adequate conditions. So there has been changes, but they dont have as many animals as I had hoped, but it is worth the visit!
We saw some birds, a hippo, lions, a jaguar, akunks, a lizard, mokeys, owls and some other. It was a very nice ride, but it leaves you wating some more as it is a zoo. The park still has some prohibited areas, anbd some parts are still being reformed, and unfortunatelly there are many areas closed, as the slaves museum and the delicious restaurant it used to hold.
There's food only in the fishing area and it is limited. The water in the little lake in the front was very dirty, and we felt sorry for the fish that were swimming there. There were however many caretakers watching the animals, helping them to adpat and telling people where to go and how to behave.
The annoying part was the people and children yelling and in doing so stressing the animals, but there was nothing we could do about that.
It was a very nice ride though and I really recommend you do it!
